The Dying Lands
Thriants are insectoid humanoids. They have four arms ending with sharp pincer-like claws, as well as two powerful legs. Varying in shades from a rusty orange color to a dark, almost black, brown, thriants have evolved to camoflage perfectly with the caves they originally lived in. They live underground, and as such can survive on far less food than humans or lizardmen. This makes them ideal miners. So when a nest of them was discovered by the Guard in a mining operation, they were immediately recruited as workers.

Skill Bonuses: +2 to Endurance, +4 to Perception when not sight based, -4 to Perception when sight based
Four Arms: You have four arms, however, you must designate two arms as your proficient arms. Your other arms can be used to drink potions, but if you attack with a weapon or use a shield in your third or fourth hand, you will take a -2 penalty to attacks, damage rolls, and all defenses and lose your proficiency bonus.
Exoskeleton: You gain the Exoskeleton encounter power.
Rations Needed per Day: 2 rations
You tighten your body, closing the gaps in your hard exoskeleton and forcing your opponent to waste a turn trying to crack your shell.
Trigger: You are bloodied, and you are hit by an attack.
Effect: You gain temporary hit points equal to 6+half your level.
Third Arm Proficiency
Benefit: For the purposes of using weapons, shields, and other items, you are treated as having three hands, all of which you can wield weapons, shields, and other items with proficiently.
Fourth Arm Proficiency
Prerequisite: Thriant, Third Arm Proficiency
Benefit: For the purposes of using weapons, shields, and other items, you are treated as having four hands, all of which you can wield weapons, shields, and other items with proficiently.
